Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, this unique and exclusive second level event location features beautiful decor, elegant lighting, an 18ft full-service bar, and much more.  We offer a diversity of customizable options to book your functions from 20 to 75 people. From corporate functions, staff parties, engagement parties, birthdays to presentations. With the current health orders, we remind all groups that they must wear masks when entering or going to the restrooms, and no dancing. Our goal is to provide a fun and safe environment for you and your guests to enjoy.

This covered patio is equipped with many heaters to keep you warm, large picnic tables to sit and mingle, a full sound system and beautiful green decor that will be perfect for your Instagram photos. This patio offers you a private and enclosed environment to keep your events cozy and intimate. This space can be totally customizable. BOOKINGS & CONFIRMATIONS

You will be asked to sign our Large Party Agreement confirming your booking date and the event details.

In the event this booking is canceled with less than 14 days notice a cancellation fee of $500 will applied to the credit card on file. For any bookings made during high season (November 12- December 23) 45 days notice must be given and a ancellation fee of $1000 will applied to the credit card on file.. The Refinery also reserves the right to cancel a function due to unforeseen circumstances. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the event coordinator.

PARKING & TRANSPORTATION

Street parking is available for guests to the building on an availability basis. We are happy to call cabs on your behalf, please always mindful of your way home when making plans to visit us.

MINIMUM SPEND

The initial quote listed below is a “minimum spend” and should be treated as such. It is the responsibility of the cardholder to ensure the minimum dollar amount is achieved by the end of the reservation. If this amount is not reached, we reserve the right to charge a remaining balance to the card listed on file. The Refinery Event Space will preform a preauthorization for the total amount of reordered items 24 hours before your event is due to take place. No charge will be put through unless in the case of cancellation, damage, or failure to meet your minimum spend amount. The Refinery reserves the right to make changes with minimum 30 days notice prior to the event. 
 
All food pre-ordered off of our events menu, or from our taco bar The Pawnshop all go towards the minimum spend, as well as all beverages pre-ordered or purchased day of.  Not included in the minimum spend is décor specific to the client, DJ, security, gratuity, tax.

Included with the rental of the space is the furniture, glassware, service ware, basic menu design, cleaning, in-house sound system, and the appropriate staffing levels and one security guard.  

RESPONSIBLE SERVICE

In accordance with British Columbia Liquor Laws and Serving it Right, all guests deemed to be intoxicated will be refused service and may be asked to leave the premises. All guests must be over the age of 19 to attend The Refinery Event Space and hold a minimum of two valid forms of government issued identification, one with a photo. This ID may be requested at any time by management or staff. 

SECURITY

A security guard to man the front door of the building is mandatory for all private events. This is to ensure guest and community safety. Guest list is now mandatory and must be submitted before the night of the event.

RECOMMENDED VENDORS

Decor:
Vancouver Balloons but also known as Balloonatics Designs. An events based balloon organization. Using 100% biodegradeable balloons, reusing and recycling any plastics and paper products as much as possible. If you wish to book Vancouver Balloons for your event, please contact us in advance.
La Tavola Style can help beautify your table scapes and generic decor. 

Photography:
Charlotte Chapman is our resident photographer and is available to book for events at The Refinery Event Space. No photos or video are allowed once you have entered our space, so a photographer is highly recommended to capture your event.

Music:
The Refinery has a close relationship with many musicians and will happily provide and accommodate your event.
